George Elementary has two computer labs filled with 29 student computers each.  Both computer labs are also equipped with ceiling mounted projector units that displays the teacher's computer station.  This is used to demonstrate computer software and internet procedures and techniques.

All students (K-5th grade) visit the computer lab once each week for a 45-minute class with Mrs. Poellot.  Teachers have the option to use the second lab for special projects that require research or computer applications that compliment the classroom learning.

Students are introduced to keyboarding skills and work on Springdale district supplied language, reading and math programs.  The lab also instructs students in computer navigation techniques, internet safety, research, and Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.

The goal of the Technology Program at George Elementary is to expose all students to the latest technology.  Mrs. Poellot looks for new ways to incorporate technology into the student's educational experience and helps to prepare them to live in a world filled with technology.
